GET THE MATERIAL RIGHT: The top tip for consultant dermatologist Dr Adil Sheraz, who works at a London NHS hospital, is to choose a mask made from a breathable material, such as cotton or even bamboo.
PICK A LIGHT COLOUR: The colour of the mask might also help so consider having a mask that's a lighter colour, rather than a darker one as dark colours absorb more light, converting it into heat.
CARRY A SPARE MASK: A damp mask can make it difficult to breathe so carry a spare especially if wearing cotton masks as they absorb more fluid and can get damp. Bring a sealed bag and container so you can put the old mask in that and ensure it doesn't contaminate anything near it.
HYDRATE: Make sure to always keep a bottle handy on a hot day. There is no problem removing your mask to have a refreshing glug of cool water - just remember to sanitise your hands before touching your mask and aim to remove it when you are at a safe distance from others.
OXYGENATE: Heat, humidity, high levels of ozone and other air pollutants can affect your breathing causing fatigue. A few breaths of Boost Oxygen will oxygenate, energise and help you to feel your best.
